Revolutionizing the way Filipinos eat and appreciate comfort food, Cabalen Group of Companies is the leading Filipino buffet and casual dining restaurant in the Philippines with a total of 57 outlets and growing. A dominant player in the Philippines, Cabalen enjoys significant market share in the buffet segment. The company has also embarked on expansion in the US, with its first branch in San Bruno, California.

Established by Ms. Maritel Nievera, Cabalen started as a cook-to-order eatery “Ituro mo, Iluto ko” in Pampanga. It later grew into an eat-all-you-can buffet restaurant in West Avenue, Quezon City, which opened in 1986. 

At Cabalen, the dining experience doesn’t stop at just good food – diners also get to enjoy time with family, making it top of mind restaurant for important family occasions and celebrations.

 

Cabalen introduced the best way to enjoy Kapampangan cuisine through an array of freshly cooked, beautifully presented food in a buffet line. At present, the Cabalen boasts of 41 branches located strategically around Metro Manila, North and South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

As the Cabalen brand grew, the group eventually came up with other restaurant concepts like Thai Restaurant Soi, Kapampangan Concept Mangan, Eatspinoy, BKK Express, Filipino-Spanish Restaurant Cerveseria, Cusina Estela by Chef B, and later partnered with global brands such as Tsurumaru, Suki-Ya, and Mr. Chaixi.

Seasoned restaurateur Ma. Estela O. Nievera, “Maritel” to friends and family, does not believe in secret recipes. Her indisputable focus on excellence-in food as in business-is the driving force behind her and Cabalen Group of Restaurant’s iconic success. But that’s just half of her winning formula. The other half is basic value of integrity, which is applied to delivering on promises and exceeding customer satisfaction. For her, knowledge of the business alone will not cut it. It’s the right attitude towards business, towards life, and toowards other people that make all the difference.

Most Outstanding Kapampangan Award for her vision to promote, preserve, and develop traditional Kapampangan Cuisine

2012

Awarded “Go Negosyo’s Woman STARpreneurs” for establishing a successful enterprise which is anchored on the important attributes on quality and affordability.
She was also recognized by The Bank Of The Philippine Islands as this year’s Business Excellence Awardee

2013

Cabalen opened its first branch abroad, in San Bruno, California

2014

Cabalen was hailed as the “Kare-Kare Cook Off Champion” by GMA 7 Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho Show

2016

Cabalen Eat-All-U-Can, Eat-All-U-Want celebrated its 30th Anniversary, three decades of serving authentic and quality, home-cooked FIlipino foods.
Given the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Award (APEA) for hospitality, foodservice & tourism industry
